How Foxcolab Drive Works
A plain-English walkthrough of how your files stay completely private, sealed on your device, and invisible to everyone—including our engineers.
1. Sealed on Your Device
Your computer or phone locks your files into a private container before sending them out. Encryption happens in your hands, not on our servers.
2. Blind Cloud Warehouse
Foxcolab stores only scrambled digital blocks. We have zero master keys to look inside, read your words, or train AI models on your work.
3. Total Key Ownership
You hold the only keys. With an offline Emergency Recovery Key, your files remain completely sovereign and protected from company lockouts.

From Your Hands to the Cloud and Back
Click through the 6 stages below to see how files move securely through the Foxcolab zero-knowledge architecture.
Your Private Vault Key is Born on Your Device
When you create your account or log in, your private vault key is generated right inside your phone, laptop, or browser. It never travels across the internet to our servers.

Your private key is generated within local browser memory and never travels across external networks to any server.
Traditional Cloud vs. Foxcolab Drive
Why “encryption at rest” in typical cloud drives still leaves your personal and business files vulnerable.
| Security Stage | ||
|---|---|---|
| Who creates the encryption key? | Created solely on your device. It never leaves your hardware. | Created and stored on the cloud company's central servers. |
| Where are files encrypted? | Inside your device before a single byte touches the internet. | After they arrive on company servers, where employees could view them. |
| Can cloud staff view your documents? | No. Mathematically impossible because we hold zero keys. | Yes. Engineers and automated systems have administrative access. |
| Are files scanned for AI training? | Never. Your files are unreadable binary noise to our servers. | Yes. Hyperscalers index documents to train machine learning features. |
| What happens during a server breach? | Hackers only get scrambled encrypted blocks with zero key access. | Hackers gain access to unencrypted PDFs, photos, and spreadsheets. |
| Do you get offline recovery ownership? | Yes. You hold an offline Emergency Recovery Key certificate. | No. Company controls account resets via email or SMS. |
The Strict Visibility Boundary
We believe in total transparency about what metadata our systems process vs. what remains strictly sealed.
